About me, my art and what to expect.

I was always very into drawing as a child and at school, achieved my best results in Art, gaining a good CSE certificate. After leaving school I, like most other kids, went for an apprenticeship and became an Electrician.
As is often the case, life became very complicated with work and family taking priority and the drawing becoming just a hobby that was only possible on rare occasions.
Around twenty years ago, due to severe osteo-arthritis I became unable to work as an Electrician, so I was able to spend more time on my drawing and I also began to paint, more seriously, with oils, acrylics and watercolours. However, drawing, with coloured pencils and graphite pencils is still my passion.
I have sold very few of my works so it still gives me a buzz to think that someone likes my work enough to actually buy it. However, I draw because I enjoy it and not to make a living. The problem is that if I had to rely on my business skills I would have starved back in the 1970's.
Whenever I finish a drawing or painting I don't want to get rid of it at all so I stash it away. Then, every now and again, I go through my stuff, look at it and think "Yes, I could sell that one. It'll only end up in a skip, or a charity shop, when I'm gone." And lets face it, any boost to the state pension is not to be sneezed at. But how much? The problem is, some of them I slaved over for weeks and others I finished in a few hours. So I'll leave it to you. But here's a price guide.

All my drawings, if I did sell them, can be mounted if requested, but unframed, as I believe that frames are a very personal thing. They have to be right for the artwork but they also have to be right for the situation in which the work is to be displayed. All of my drawings, regardless of size, if mounted, will be mounted to fit a standard frame size that is easily obtainable. If drawings are to be posted, they are rolled and posted in a postage tube.
My paintings, on the other hand, would be framed if I sold them because any painting, particularly an oil or acrylic painting, on MDF board, which most of mine are, would look very unfinished if they were unframed. Unless, of course, unframed was requested.

As I have said, selling my work is not a priority but if I do the prices are negotiable. One thing I can do well is to say "No". Perhaps not always as politely as that depending on the offer.

Or, you could wait a while and see if you come across it in a skip or charity shop.
