"Highlights"
Just another quick sketch, practicing with light and shade.
I did this one with white coloured pencils.
Size: 16" x 11.5"
A quick sketch to try out some Conte a Paris sketching pencils that I bought.
I thought they were excellent and will be using them much more in the future.
They are very chalky and pastel like and the main drawback with these and pastels is that they are very difficult to preserve. Spray fixatives, even the ones that are specifically made for pastels and charcoals, tend to alter the shade and dull out the highlights.
"Dangerous Possessions"
My first attempt with charcoals!
I was very pleased with it!
"Waiting"
Coloured pencil on Bristol board
15.5" x 11.5"
Took me ages to do this one and I'm not sure I like it much.
"Fritillary on Thistle"
A Coloured pencil sketch on Pastel paper that I was never very happy with.
"Erme at Sunrise"
A real mix of media with this one!
I used oil paints, acrylics and coloured pencils.
"Little Egret"
I was really pleased with this one but it started out as a
simple, quick sketch, so it was done on really flimsy paper.
"Fist"
OK, so I get bored quite often!!!
Another quick sketch. Of my fist this time!
No title for this one. I'm open to suggestions!
Just a pencil sketch.
I made it up as I went along.
"Country Roads"
My first attempt at using pastels!
Boy, it's messy!!
"Puss on Boot"
Cat snoozing on a boot!
"Hand"
A moment of boredom. I guess!
Just a quick sketch of my hand.
For the "old" page three fans!
A sketch I did many years ago (back in the seventies, actually!), of a page three girl, one of my favourites, called Linda Lusardi.
Some of my friends have said that it looks like a young Samantha Fox but I don't think it looks anything like her, myself.
And just another sketch from a photo in a magazine somewhere in the distant past (well, the seventies, anyway)!
